A science-led platformfor healthy immune ageing

Dr Md Arif Sheikh is a molecular and structural biologist, drug-discovery scientist and biotechnology entrepreneur with more than 19 years of international research experience. His career has been built around a central ambition: to transform complex biological science into practical products capable of improving human health.

As Founder and CEO of T-Booster Ltd and Avix Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Dr Sheikh is leading the development of T-Booster, a clinically studied nutritional formulation designed to support thymus function and immune health as people age.

Dr Sheikh holds a PhD in Molecular and Structural Biology from the University of St Andrews, completed through scientific collaborations with the University of Oxford and the University of Delaware. Before moving into biotechnology entrepreneurship, his research career spanned microbiology, structural biology, protein science, cancer research and early-stage drug discovery. He has contributed to the determination of more than 45 protein structures deposited in the Protein Data Bank.

His scientific work includes research on pneumolysin, a major toxin involved in pneumococcal disease, where structural insights helped strengthen the foundation for future therapeutic development. His academic and scientific experience includes appointments and collaborations across the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland and Bangladesh, including cancer research at the University of Sussex.

From molecular discovery to human health

The thymus is essential for the development of T cells, which help the body identify and respond to infections, abnormal cells and other biological threats. However, thymus activity naturally declines with age. Dr Sheikh recognised that this underexplored area of biology represented both a major healthcare challenge and a significant innovation opportunity.

T-Booster was created to translate decades of research into thymus biology, nutrition and immune ageing into a carefully formulated consumer-health product. The formulation combines 18 selected vitamins, minerals and nutraceuticals through a science-led development process. It is not positioned as another conventional multivitamin. It is being developed around a defined biological focus: supporting thymus function and immune health during ageing.

Dr Sheikh has led T-Booster from scientific concept through formulation, manufacturing and human clinical evaluation. Working alongside experienced drug-discovery scientist Dr David Brown and a multidisciplinary international team, T-Booster has completed participant involvement in a twelve-month randomised, double-blind programme involving 260 healthy adults.

More than a single product

A platform approach tofuture health products

The long-term strategy is to use clinical insight, biological data and continued research to develop a family of targeted products through a disciplined pathway.

T-Booster platform pipeline: scientific rationale, formulation, manufacturing, human evaluation and commercialisation, repeating for future products

Scientific depth

Molecular and structural biology, protein purification, crystallography, microbiology, bioinformatics, cancer and infectious-disease research.

Clinical translation

Nutritional product development, clinical-study planning and execution, intellectual-property strategy and scientific partnerships.

Founder execution

International manufacturing, fundraising, commercial development and venture-building experience, including Entrepreneur First LD13.

“My career began with understanding biological structures at the molecular level. Today, my focus is translating that knowledge into products that can improve health at scale. T-Booster represents years of scientific research, international collaboration and founder-led determination. Our goal is not simply to launch another supplement, but to build a credible, clinically informed platform for the future of immune health.”
